Brooke Hirschy
Lead Guide/Scenic Hiking (She/Her/Hers)
I grew up in Northeast Indiana always playing in the woods behind my house after school, examining fungi and plants, building bridges and forts, and stomping in the mud. Our family vacations consisted of visiting state and national parks, which I'm extremely grateful for those experiences.
I went on to college in Nashville, Tennessee, and during that time went on my first backpacking trip in the Appalachian Mountains. My love for spending time in remote wilderness grew then, and I eventually guided backpacking trips for 3 years and walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain for a month.
I worked in Marketing for 4 years in Flagstaff, Arizona, and realized how fascinated I was with the uniqueness of the Colorado Plateau. So eventually I landed in Southern Utah, where I can be in close proximity to so many things I'm passionate about. I love Southern Utah because it is a playground for rock climbing, canyoneering, whitewater activities, ice climbing, and hiking/backpacking. I also enjoy reading, hanging out with my dog, Mosby, and teaching/practicing yoga.
I love guiding because I can share my passion about the plants, fungi, geology, and history of the area with guests. I think that when you learn about an area, you can see it through a new lens and adore it even more. So, I hope that on each trip I guide, guests walk away with something new that they've learned.
