What To Bring

Packing lists for your upcoming adventure

You have spent valuable time planning and making it possible to come to Zion National Park and your Zion Guru Event.  Reviewing the lists below and packing the right things for your trip will truly enhance your experience.  For all trips/outfitting please bring:

  • Sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher, applied prior to your arrival).

  • Drinking-Water (1.5 liters/person/4 hours - minimum).

  • Food

    • Half-Day: trail mix, food bars, jerky, etc. Be creative but leave the bags of chips, bananas and junk food at home.

    • Full-Day: Cold-cut wraps or sandwiches, trail mix, food bars, jerky, etc. Be creative but leave the bags of chips, bananas and junk food at home.

  • Camera / Smart Phone for pictures

  • Proper clothing and layers. Guests are always surprised by the weather, either it being much cooler or warmer than they expected. Look at the long term forecast while packing.

  • EpiPen if known allergy to bee stings or nuts.

  • National Parks Passes or Entry Fee for your vehicles, or you may have to pay $20/person upon passage through Park gates.

Zion Narrows

June - September

  1. Capris, zip-off pants, yoga pants, or lightweight hiking shorts, board shorts - No jeans, No Cotton

  2. Light rain jacket

  3. Light fleece top for cool mornings

October - May

  1. Track pants, capris, zip-off pants, yoga pants, or hiking pants

  2. Long underwear. No cotton under the dry pants or drysuits. (Under Armor®, Capilene® etc.)

  3. Light rain/wind jacket

  4. Fleece jacket for the cool mornings

  5. Warm/knit hat/beanie

  6. Warm gloves

scenic hiking

June - September

  1. Comfortable, flexible pants or shorts for hiking.

  2. Light rain/wind jacket

  3. Light fleece top for cool mornings

October - May

  1. Track pants, capris, zip-off pants, yoga pants, or hiking pants

  2. Long underwear. Under Armor®, Capilene® etc.

  3. Light rain/wind jacket

  4. Fleece jacket for the cool mornings

  5. Down/puffy jacket

  6. Scarf

  7. Warm/knit hat/beanie

  8. Warm gloves 

Canyon Quests

June - September

Biking

October - May

  2. Long underwear. (Under Armor®, Capilene® etc.)

  4. Fleece jacket for the cool mornings and chilly overlooks and shaded trails

  5. Warm/knit hat/beanie

  7. Puffy Jacket

  8. Advanced Riders: Bring pedals and shoes (optional)

  9. CamelBak or hydration pack

Rock Climbing

June - September

  1. Capris, zip-off pants, yoga pants, or lightweight hiking shorts, flexible, comfortable, stretchy pants

  3. Light fleece top for cool mornings or chilly belays stances

October - May
