Zion Narrows Outfitting
The Water Hike of a Lifetime
Zion Narrows Equipment Rentals:
Shoes, Hiking Sticks and Dry Gear
The Zion Narrows is an amazing adventure into a river system cradled by 1500 foot tall sandstone walls. Unlike any other hike in the world, the Narrows hike requires hiking in and crossing through the Virgin River as it cuts through Zion National Park. Water levels vary dramatically throughout the year, but hikers can expect water depths up to chest deep less than 5% of the time (often not more than waist deep), knee-deep or less 45% of the time, and the remaining 50% hiking on adjacent river banks. Specialized footwear, dry gear, walking sticks and risk management education are essential tools for this hike, all available at Zion Guru in Springdale, Utah.
Gear may be picked up the day before your hike between 2-7:30PM at no additional cost!

Dry Pant Package
Recommended Oct, Nov, May
Dry Pant (for shallow cold water) - has a latex gasket that seals around your ankle bone preventing water from getting your pants wet. Your feet get wet, but just like our Summer Footwear Package, your feet stay warm with a micro-layer of water between your foot and the sock.

River-specific Fitwell Canyon shoes
4mm Neoprene Sock
White Ash walking pole

**Please note that the pant package is not ideal for the Narrows hike, due to a deeper section near the start of the hike, the water is usually near waist level and could enter pants from the top/waistband.
All outfitting packages include an in-depth information session to orient you to whichever version of the Narrows hike you are embarking upon. We get you up-to-speed on times and distances, what to bring, logistical information, and personalized recommendations for you and your group.
