Packraft Rental Packages

If the intended use of this rental is whitewater, it is important to have previous paddling experience or adventure with experienced Paddlers. There are many bodies of water in Southern Utah that vary in difficulty. If you are interested in the sport and want to get a feel for the raft, flat water is a great place to start.

What is Packrafting?

Backcountry adventure and river travel

Packrafting combines hiking and paddling using lightweight, inflatable rafts for solo adventures on rivers and lakes. These compact boats are portable, fitting in a backpack, enabling access to remote areas before entering the water. Popular in rugged terrains, packrafting offers an alternative to traditional kayaking, allowing exploration of diverse landscapes and upstream/downstream navigation.

Two people hiking through a narrow slot canyon with water flowing at their feet, surrounded by towering rock walls. One person is using trekking poles.
Two people kayaking on a river with mountainous landscape in the background, featuring rugged rock formations and greenery.
Person kayaking in a river with a bright pink kayak, wearing a helmet and life jacket, surrounded by trees and rocky landscape.

Can Anyone Packraft?

It all depends on your experience level and the type of water

Person kayaking on a river with an orange cliff background.
Two people kayaking on a river, each in an inflatable kayak, one orange and one blue, holding paddles overhead in a celebratory manner, surrounded by green trees and under a clear blue sky.
Person kayaking in a pink kayak on a muddy river, wearing a helmet and life jacket, surrounded by shrubs and a rocky landscape under a clear blue sky.

To get into packrafting, start by researching the basics of the sport, including equipment, safety protocols, and suitable locations. Invest in a quality packraft designed for your intended use, along with essential gear such as a paddle, personal flotation device, and a repair kit. Practicing basic paddling techniques in calm water will build your confidence before venturing into more challenging terrain. Consider joining a local packrafting club or taking a class to learn from experienced paddlers, and always prioritize safety by checking weather conditions and understanding river features. Finally, make trips with knowledgeable companions to gain experience and enhance your skills while enjoying the beauty of the waterways.

Im new to this but really want to try packrafting!
